This was what saddened her heart. She considered herself an obstacle to her husband, and this was what most damaged her spirit. Thus, one can imagine how overjoyed she was to see her husband return! When the mother and child arrived at the beach, the honor guard had already lined up, ready to welcome the respected prince home. Of course, Liu Bwee and Swat Hong were given the most honored spot at the front, and when the boat finally docked and Han Ti Ong leaped out, smiling broadly, Swat Hong was the first person to run and greet him.
"Father...!!" "Ha-ha, Hong-ji, you are only getting more beautiful!"
Han Ti Ong received his daughter and lifted her high, then tossed her body into the air. Laughing, Swat Hong floated down and immediately attacked her father with the move Kek-seng-jip-hai (Trumpet Star Gliding into the Sea), just as she had done to her mother earlier.
"Ha-ha-ha, quite good!"
Her father laughed, seized the two arms gripping the crown of his head, then carried his daughter, and kissed her forehead. While carrying his daughter, Han Ti Ong approached his wife, who had stepped forward to welcome him, looked at her full of affection, and said softly, "I hope you have been well while I was gone."
Liu Bwee looked at her husband and smiled, but behind that smile, Han Ti Ong saw something troubling his wife's heart, especially when he heard his wife's soft voice.
"The Royal Father is suffering from a severe illness."
Han Ti Ong nodded.
That short statement encompassed all of his wife's feelings. He knew the heart of his beloved wife and understood that, leading up to her father's death, there were things that worried her. Naturally, this concerned the inheritance of the throne and his wife, who came from a family of "low" blood.
She was certainly worried that her descendants would cause problems regarding the royal appointment! So he looked at his wife with comforting eyes, then, as if remembering something, he said,
"Ah, I almost forgot. I came with a disciple of mine, his name is Sing Liong, but on the mainland, he is known as Sin-tong."
"Hah, a Sin-tong (child prodigy)? Hmm, I want to know the extent of his prodigiousness!"
"Hong-ji, don't!"
Her mother admonished her, but the child leaped forward, and at that moment, Sin Liong had just stepped down from the boat. He had barely walked toward his master when suddenly a shadow flashed, and instantly a small girl, moving like a swooping garuda, attacked him from the front; a small foot struck his chest.
"Thud!!"
Without question, Sin Liong stumbled backward and fell, his chest aching and his breath constricted. However, he stood up, dusted off his clothes, looked at the girl who was younger than him, shook his head, and said calmly,
"What a pity, a child who is still pure is tainted by the bad habit of using violence to strike people without cause."
"Aihhh..."
Swat Hong was stunned, then turned to her father, who was laughing loudly,
"Father, he can't do anything, why is he called Sin-tong? A simple attack made him stumble and fall!"
"Ha-ha-ha, you saw him fall, but did you not see something prodigious? He is not angry; instead, he pities you. Is that not prodigious?"
"He is an extraordinary child..."
Liu Bwee was heard saying softly, and now Swat Hong also looked at Sin Liong. But she still felt unsatisfied and said,
"He isn't angry because he's scared and a coward, Father!"
"Heh, Sin Liong, are you afraid of this Swat Hong?"
Han Ti Ong shouted at Sin Liong. The boy shook his head.
"Suhu understands that teecu fears nothing and no one."
Swat Hong puffed out her still-flat chest, raised her head, and challenged,
"Arrogant brat, if you aren't afraid, come on, fight me!"
She was already ready, adopting a stance. Sin Liong shook his head.
"Good little sister, I will not use any skill whatsoever to commit violence against others, especially against a child like you."
The small girl charged forward, observed by Sin Liong with a calm demeanor; he did not even blink while facing the girl's attack. Suddenly, Swat Hong's body staggered backward, and it turned out her arm had been caught by her mother and pulled back.
"Swat Hong, you go too far! You should apologize to your Suheng!"
Swat Hong turned, saw her father smiling, and saw the gaze of everyone, from soldiers to officers, filled with admiration for Sin Liong.
Only then did she remember that she had violated the first lesson from her father, indeed from all the inhabitants of the island: that the martial arts of Ice Island must not be carelessly used to attack people without reason! And she had attacked Sin Liong without any cause, even though Sin Liong was her father's disciple, or her Suheng (senior martial brother). Although she had a fierce and fearless nature, her cheerful and easily changeable disposition allowed Swat Hong to dismiss all feelings of annoyance, and smiling with a friendly face, she bowed toward Sin Liong, saying,
"Suheng, please forgive my impudence toward Father's disciple."
Sin Liong was surprised. So this child was his Suhu's daughter! He also bowed and said,
"There is nothing to forgive, Sumoi. Your skill is indeed formidable; naturally, I am no match for you."
"Hee-hee, wow, he is so kind, Father!"
Swat Hong then leaped toward Sin Liong, took his hand, and ran with him to the side, where she showered Sin Liong with questions.
"What is your full name, Suheng? Where do you come from? How did you become Father's disciple? What has he taught you? Why are you called Sin-tong?"
It was difficult for Sin Liong to face the barrage of questions from the girl who had just attacked him like a garuda but who was now acting so friendly and kind toward him. However, he had barely introduced his name, Kwan Sin Liong, and had not yet managed to answer the other questions, when his attention, as well as Swat Hong's and everyone else present, was drawn by the commotion that occurred when Kwat Lin descended from the boat. As soon as Kwat Lin stepped off the boat, the woman, who was still not fully recovered from the memory disturbance caused by the great catastrophe that befell her, became the focus of everyone's attention.
This woman indeed had a sweet and gallant face, especially when she stepped off the boat, her disheveled hair fluttered in the wind, and her overly loose clothing made her look increasingly strange and mysterious. Kwat Lin descended with a calm demeanor, but her eyes moved wildly, sweeping over everyone who looked at her. Then her eyes stopped, gazing at Liu Bwee, who had stepped forward to approach her.
"Who is this?"
Liu Bwee asked without shifting her gaze from that pale face, while inwardly guessing and awaiting the answer she expected from her husband, because the question was actually directed at him. But before Han Ti Ong could answer, Kwat Lin suddenly roared,
"Filthy humans! I will kill you!"
And she leaped forward and attacked Liu Bwee with a devastating blow.
"Hey, Twanio! Don't be like that...!!"
Sin Liong shouted to stop her, but it was too late because Kwat Lin attacked quickly. Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Ice Island, including Swat Hong and Prince Han Ti Ong himself, merely watched calmly!
"Whoosh... slap-slap...!"
Kwat Lin's body was sent flying when her blow was parried by Liu Bwee, and the woman had already slapped her shoulder in retaliation. This made Kwat Lin, who was not truly conscious, even angrier. Desperately, she jumped up and charged again, but Prince Han Ti Ong preempted her by striking her shoulder pressure point, saying,
"Calm down, Miss."
Kwat Lin fell again, but her body was caught by Han Ti Ong. It turned out she had been immobilized by a pressure point strike. With a wave of his hand, the Prince called four nimble-looking female servants.
"She is suffering from an unnatural memory illness."
